Best Probiotics

January was a long month, but the positive is January means a fresh start. Time to get refreshed, recharged, and rejuvenated. This year I am focusing on self-care. Being a full time working mom, a wife, sister, daughter, friend and so much more I tend to put myself last because I am too invested in everyone else- but myself. Self care is so important and it often gets over looked by so many people.

I have been trying to make small changes that I can work on daily and weekly to help me feel overall better. I have started meditating, stretching daily, and flossing. (does anyone hate to floss??) I have also started taking a probiotics. I am using Dr. Ohhira Probiotics. These probiotics are the only ones with a 3-year fermented food supply. There are 12 different strains of live “friendly bacteria” that helps your system.

What are probiotics? The Mayo Clinic states:

Probiotics are good bacteria that are either the same as or very similar to the bacteria that are already in your body. Your lower digestive tract alone teems with a complex and diverse community of these bacteria. In fact, there are a greater number of bacteria in your intestines than there are cells in your body.

But not all of the bacteria in your body are good for you. Some research suggests that having too many of the “bad” and not enough of the “good” bacteria — caused in part by an unhealthy diet — can wreak all sorts of havoc on your body’s systems. This imbalance can lead to weight gain, skin conditions, constipation or diarrhea, and various chronic health conditions.

Dr. Ohhira’s Probitotics promotes healthy digestion, healthy intestinal pH, and helps support a healthy immune system response. After having Millie I started having heartburn- which I never had before. Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics help relieve my occasional heartburn. After using them for a few weeks I have felt a difference overall as well.

There are a few other things I want to start doing to help my overall self-care, but this was one of this things that felt the most important. I will be writing on some other self-care things I am doing soon! Have you tried probiotics? What have you done to help your self-care this year?
